Ava in Pink and Yellow

Sorry I've been away. Our landlord gave us the opportunity to move to a nicer apartment, but only gave us a week to do it! So, last weekend I was moving. Glad it's over and so glad to be in the nicer place.

This weekend I've been playing with making my own flowers. There are so many tutorials out there. The flower on this card is a burnt edges flower. Quite fun! I actually only had white fabric, so I colored it with my ProMarkers. The image is from Bugaboo - Ava Flower. The patterned paper is hard to see. It's a yellow paisley from Colorbok. The solid papers are from my stash. The pink paper is embossed with swirls. The yellow ribbon over the lace is organza (I colored it with my ProMarkers as well). This is the first time I've tried stitching. Boy does it take a long time! I'm not one to do much sewing. I'd rather use a safety pin instead of sew a button back on, lol. But, several of the flowers I've tried require sewing... maybe I'll get faster with practice!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

DYSU: Follow That Yellow Brick Road

First, congratulations on successfully moving to a nicer apartment! My husband and I are also looking for one and it's definitely not easy so good for you. :) Second, that's a BEAUTIFUL handmade flower! I love it! And good thinking on coloring the flower and the ribbon too. And the stitches look great. I don't do stitches myself so I can just imagine the labor. LOL Wonderful project!

Thanks for sharing it with us at Make It Monday! Hope to see more.

Hugs,
Rochelle
