Scarlet in Green

Since I've been invited to a new DT over at Sliekje's Cards Challenges along with my new appointment at Shelly's Images, I have decided to extend the deadline for my blog candy to May 31st. If you haven't taken a look at it yet you can find all the details on my Celebration Blog Candy Post.

Before I show you my card today, I want to show you what Geraldine from Little Snippets sent me for Pay It Forward! It's a beautiful little handmade cloth basket! She also sent some gorgeous embroidery embellishments. Her card has lovely crochet and needlework. You can buy some of her creations at her Etsy Shop.

I took on the Pay It Forward challenge by entering a comment at her blog and promising to send handmade items to the first 5 people to comment on my Pay It Forward page. If you want to play along, please visit my Pay It Forward post and leave a comment.

This is my favorite Bugaboo lady, Scarlet. My papers are from K & Company. My buttons and Sage Luster Twine are from Pizzazz Aplenty. I used hand stitching inside and out for this card. The flower on the front is a burnt edge flower (tutorial). I used fabric from a shirt I found at a rummage sale. This is a great, inexpensive way to find fabric for your flower making. I also layered tulle between the polyester. The center was again made with my I-Top. I just love this tool!

The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Design's Gratitude Set. I used my Dahlia Nestie to cut these flowers and I placed burnt edged tulle between the layers and behind the sentiment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

@Regan - I love your avatar! I want to get one so badly!

@Alison - I'm so glad you came by and I do love my I-Top Tool. LOVE it! Now, I won mine from Frosted Designs along with the medium punch and a set of medium brads. I then added the other two punches and brads. I definitely think that it could get pretty costly, but I absolutely love it for making flowers. And I'm on a Flower kick right now. Well, it may be a kick that never ends, lol!
