Sentimental Sundays Garden Party

Before we start with today's challenge, I'd like to mention a special fundraiser coordinated by  Kim Sherrod for her dear friend whose son was admitted to the hospital for heart problems. Kim is trying to raise money for her friend to be able to see her son, but it's not going well. Her friend is struggling financially and can't afford to make the trip.

Ann has created some images for this fundraiser.  You can purchase the stamps in digi format or possibly as clear stamps, too by visiting THIS PAGE.  So if you can, please stop over and help her raise some money for a very worthy cause.  Next week, some of the Sentimental Sundays team members will be showcasing the stamps to inspire you to create using the images.

Our theme this week is Garden Party and what Garden Party would be complete without gnomes?!?! I freehanded the cloud and the sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs. The images are from Whimsie Doodles - I am just in love with these gnomes! The sun is a singed edge flower that I made (I'm still hoping to get the tutorial up for this soon). I didn't have fabric in the right color so I colored it with my ProMarkers.

I really like the look of the scene cards, so I thought I try it out. I discovered that my elements need to be a bit smaller, but I think it turned out ok. For the inside, I used another gnome digi that I planned to use on the front, but didn't end up with enough room.

My image this week is Beach Clothes Line from Gingerloft. I've added some burlap and orange fiber for texture behind the image.

My flower is handmade and I hope to be posing a tutorial on it soon. It is made with polyester suit lining material and gold tulle. The fabric was white and I colored it with a ProMarker to match the card.

I love the challenge over at the Play Date Cafe this week so I made this to play along. I made the flower, but it was harder than I thought it would be. Don't know if I'll be making this type again. I didn't have the color I wanted, so I colored the fabric and ribbon with my ProMarkers.
